MIDDLE SCHOOL (6-8th)
Middle School Seminars
Middle School Seminars are the cornerstone of experiential learning beyond the classroom at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½. Three times each year, students step off campus for immersive, hands-on experiences that bring academic concepts to life in real-world settings. Students choose from a range of Seminar topics aligned with their interests and goals, including Outdoor Education, the Arts, Social and Current Issues, STEM, and Life Skills. Through these experiences, learners practice collaboration, problem-solving, and reflection—core habits of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s experiential education.
8th-Grade Walkabout
In the spring of their 8th-grade year, students embark on Walkabout, a time-honored Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ tradition and the culminating Middle School experiential experience. This seven- to ten-day expedition takes students to the southern desert of Utah, where they raft, hike, and live together in a challenging, transformative environment. Walkabout supports the transition from Middle to Upper School by fostering independence, resilience, and class unity—memories that alumni often recall for decades.
