蘑菇传媒鈥檚 Annual Fund, consists of unrestricted financial contributions to the operating budget. This fund provides the primary source of unrestricted support for 蘑菇传媒, allowing the school to allocate resources to areas of greatest need. Contributions help sustain the day-to-day operations, programming, and maintenance of the school. 蘑菇传媒 relies on the generosity of its community鈥攑arents, grandparents, alumni, past parents, friends, faculty and staff, foundations, and local businesses and corporations鈥攖o contribute to the 蘑菇传媒 Annual Fund. The goal is to support ongoing operations while strengthening and expanding the school鈥檚 programs and teaching staff.
The Annual Fund helps bridge the gap between operating expenses and tuition income. Without fundraising campaigns, 蘑菇传媒 would have to rely solely on tuition, which would result in higher tuition fees. Currently, tuition and fees account for only 80 percent of 蘑菇传媒's annual income.
Independent schools, colleges, and universities rely on their Annual Funds along with tuition dollars to fulfill their mission. 蘑菇传媒 aims to maintain a socioeconomically diverse student body while keeping tuition as affordable as possible.
Tax laws encourage voluntary financial support for nonprofit organizations, including independent schools like 蘑菇传媒. Contributions to the 蘑菇传媒 Annual Fund are tax-deductible, whereas tuition payments are not. Given the current national climate, there are strong financial incentives to make tax-deductible gifts this year. Additionally, in Colorado, donors may benefit from the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit, which offers a 50% tax credit on qualifying contributions. It is an art and not a science. We consider things like previous giving history, conversations had with potential donors, a review of each donor鈥檚 life circumstances, etc. We prefer to work with our donors to determine what they can give 鈥� always feel free to contact the Development Office giving@css.org to talk through your giving level.
蘑菇传媒 fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30 of each year. The 蘑菇传媒 Annual Fund campaign coincides with the start of the school year, and 蘑菇传媒 continues to solicit funds through June 30, marking the end of the school鈥檚 fiscal year. Please feel free to communicate with us if you feel you are being solicited too often.
蘑菇传媒 will continue to seek financial support and participation through other fundraising activities throughout the year. The Annual Fund is the school鈥檚 highest fundraising priority and we encourage you to, similarly, prioritize your giving goals to the Annual Fund.

Student-led fundraisers are limited. Teams, clubs, and classes receive modest budgets and cannot launch individual fundraising efforts without prior written approval from the Development Office.
The 蘑菇传媒 Annual Fund donations support all aspects of the budget, including the cost of attracting and retaining masterful teachers, offering superior academic programming, and equipping and maintaining our facilities.
We emphasize good stewardship with our resources and have maximized student experiences through difficult economic times.
We believe that an investment in 蘑菇传媒 is an investment in our school鈥檚 future, and more importantly, an investment in each individual student鈥檚 future.
A contribution made in honor of a faculty and/or staff member, a friend, or a loved one, is encouraged and replaces your individual recognition. On your pledge form, there is a designated place for you to indicate whom you would like to honor. Please be sure to also include the person鈥檚 address. A special card will be sent to the recipient announcing that a gift was made to the school, however, no amount will be revealed.
Yes. 蘑菇传媒 respects any donor鈥檚 wish to remain anonymous. An anonymous gift can still receive a tax receipt and acknowledgement.
The 蘑菇传媒 Annual Fund campaign accepts gifts year-round.
蘑菇传媒 welcomes restricted gifts and is happy to discuss opportunities for support. Before making a restricted gift, please contact the Development Office so our leadership can determine whether the proposed gift aligns with the school鈥檚 strategic priorities.
This review may include the full cost of the purchase, installation, ongoing maintenance, professional development, and any additional expenses needed to fulfill the intent of the gift. Restricted gifts that support existing budgeted priorities are often the most effective way to make a lasting impact.
