Middle School Thespians Shine in Student-Driven Production of "Peter and the Starcatcher"

Congratulations to the Middle School cast and crew of Peter and the Starcatcher for their December 5, 2025, performance in the Louisa Performing Arts Center!

Peter and the Starcatcher, adapted by Rick Elice from the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, is a Tony Award–winning play that reimagines the origin story of Peter Pan. The Middle School production followed a nameless orphan boy aboard the ship The Neverland, where he and his fellow orphans encountered pirates—including the comical Black Stache, who will one day become Captain Hook—and a young apprentice Starcatcher named Molly, who guarded a trunk of magical “starstuff.”

This production was especially remarkable in that it was student-driven by our 7th- and 8th-grade thespians. From costumes to sound and lights, and even stage direction, the students took the lead in bringing this production to life. Full of humor, heart, and adventure, the play explored timeless themes of friendship, courage, and the journey of growing up—all while showcasing the creativity, dedication, and talent of our Middle School Kodiaks.
